What it looks like in practice

The training itself runs inside the VR application on a Meta Quest headset. Skillsive is everything around it: the register of people you train, the courses your plan covers, the headsets they run on and the complete record of what each person actually completed.

A trainee in Skillsive is not a licensed user account. It is a record in your organization — nickname, employee ID number, position, language and country — and the person identifies themselves on the headset by picking their name from a list or typing a six-digit sign-in code. Licensing is per VR device, so any number of trainees can share the same headset.

How it works

  1. Step 1: Set up the organization

    Create your organization, add the logo and company details, then invite the people who will run training. Roles decide what each of them sees — from full administration to a read-only analyst view.

  2. Step 2: Build the trainee register

    Add trainees one by one or import them from a CSV file. Each record carries a nickname, optional identifying data such as employee ID and position, plus the language and country used during training.

  3. Step 3: Prepare the headsets

    Pair the headsets with your organization and set how a trainee identifies themselves: picking their name from the on-device list, or entering their own six-digit sign-in code.

  4. Step 4: Track results in the panel

    Every session becomes a completion record with score, progress, duration, device and a lesson-by-lesson history — visible per person, per course and per headset.

What you get in the panel

  • Trainee register

    Nickname, employee ID number, position, language, country and contact details. Deactivate someone and they disappear from the list shown inside the headsets, without losing their training history.

  • CSV import and export

    Load a whole department from a spreadsheet instead of typing names one by one. The list can be exported back to CSV or XLSX for HR systems and audits.

  • Sign-in codes and printable cards

    Each trainee has a six-digit code to sign in on a headset. You can regenerate a code and print ready-to-cut code cards for a whole group as a PDF.

  • Custom course builder

    Assemble your own course from the lessons of a VR application: set the order, mark which lessons are required for a certificate, and see the estimated duration, offline availability and microphone requirement before you publish it.

  • Roles, invitations and join requests

    Invite colleagues by email or approve their join requests, and give each one a role — administrator, analyst, finance or device admin — so nobody sees more data than they need.

  • Your plan's course library

    See exactly which VR applications and courses your subscription covers, how many device seats are in use, and which headsets are active in the subscription.

Frequently asked questions

Do trainees need their own accounts or email addresses?
No. A trainee is a record in your organization, not a licensed account — a nickname is enough to create one. Identifying data such as first name, surname or employee ID is optional and requires accepting the trainee data processing agreement first.
Do I need my own VR courses to start?
No. Skillsive ships with the EHS Academy application — a library of ready-made VR safety training scenarios. You can also assemble your own courses from the lessons of an application, or commission custom VR content.
How do trainees get access to a course?
The courses covered by your subscription are downloaded to the paired headset. The trainee puts on the headset, identifies themselves from the list or with a sign-in code, and starts the training.
Can I build a course out of existing lessons?
Yes. In the custom course builder you pick lessons from one VR application, set their order and mark the ones required for a certificate. The builder shows the estimated duration and whether the finished course works offline.
Can I see how far someone got in a course?
Yes. The panel shows progress, score, duration and a lesson-by-lesson history with every attempt marked as passed or not passed, so you always know who still needs to finish.
Does the LMS support recurring training?
Yes. Completions are stored with dates, so you can re-run periodic training such as annual safety refreshers and keep the full history of every cycle.
